BARNSTORMING  ' BANKSY ' .. below, a natural performer at pulling .. a-frame .. hang-tough .. whatever, and great people-dog also. Altho' being a larger than average size, he's almost as nimble as a cat when in high gear ! His dedicated owner, Lee W, informs us that Banksy's easy to train and exercise, bursting with energy when ever it's needed ...

Pictured above; the exhibit that caught my eye, moreso than several others, judging at the show in Ireland last year; being an American Pit Bull Terrier bitch .. a true-blue Role Model indeed, for the APBT breed !     ... and, I'm told, her name is 'Moose'.

... in my view, such an outline overall; conformation-wise, suggests performance-bred to start with, combined with an alert and lively attitude, concluding with a positive ' fit for purpose ' physique, made my day assessing such a class act, indeed ...

"WE LAST YEAR JUDGED APBT'S IN IRELAND";   where such dogs are'nt illegal to keep, as here in England. IT WAS AN EXHILERATING EXPERIENCE, INDEED !

AFTER EXAMINING A LARGE NUMBER OF SUCH DOGS,  it's fair to say they were assessed in their natural state, as the people-friendly pets they really can be in the hands of responsible owners ... more info about them, in our IKC FORUM as well .

DUE TO THE MANY CHANGES HAVING BEEN MADE IN THE DOG GAME IN THESE PARTS, it's our endeavour to maintain our longterm aims to retain the legendary qualities, in form and function, of brawn and brains combined with the consumate 'man/dog' relationship such dogs are renowned for throughout their known history,   It's fair to say that 'a dog with no past, has no future '.

THAT CAN'T BE SAID ABOUT  OUR SORTS !!  One way or another they manage to make their presence felt ... they also manage to retain a popular image with a growing number of owners who prefer 'lively canine companions'  in place of  less-lively types.

PLUS !!  The I.K.C. breed standard for Staffordshire Bull Terriers is due for updating; in keeping with the performance abilities at recent events in our circles ... concerning the wide variety of  height & weight differences with successful winning entries from smaller specimens of about 15 inches in height and near the 30 lb mark, with larger ones up to 19 inches and near the 50 lbs mark, THE CONSIDERATIONS centre around  size and weight.  As  a large majority, generally, bear a reasonable sameness overall in their statuesque outline, whether small or large, with PROVEN ABILITIES BEING THE AIM, should our dogs to be assessed on what they look like .. or the final outcome of  what they did ... ?? 

FACTO NON VERBA, taken from the latin, means DEEDS, NOT WORDS, leaving us to ponder over the above, and ease away from strict limits on height & weight, thereby using  an old criteria 'HANDSOME IS WHAT HANDSOME DOES' ... more info about this matter will appear herein ...
